BK SURCO Certified NEC Professional Renewal Assessment

The BK SURCO Certified NEC Professional Renewal Assessment provides Certified NEC Professionals with the opportunity to update their knowledge of the NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract, 2017 Edition, (“NEC4 ECC”) with latest amendments (“latest edition of the NEC4 ECC”) as well as to assess their current understanding and application of the concepts covered in the Certified NEC Professional Training Course they undertook some 5 years ago. Successful completion of the Renewal Assessment means their qualification will be certified for a further 5 years and will continue to entitle them to be included in the Register for Certified NEC Professionals of the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors.

The Renewal Assessment comprises an assessment of their knowledge of the latest edition of the NEC4 ECC through their selection of one of the multiple choice answers given to each of the 5 sub-questions within each of the case studies of the 4 main Questions (i.e. 20 answers to each of 20 sub-questions in total). These case studies are designed to simulate real-world scenarios, allowing the application of knowledge and problem-solving skills in practical NEC situations.

Certified NEC Professionals are eligible to undertake the Renewal Assessment as early as not more than 3 months prior to the expiry date of their certificates but not later than 6 months after the expiry date of their certificates. Failure to renew within this period will result in the forfeiture of their rights to renew their qualification through the Renewal Assessment process.
